A great read is "Aussie Aussie Aussie Oui,Oui,Oui by Rupert Guiness --Random House Austalia 2003 about the 100 years of Aussie cyclists in the Tour de France with great stuff on Oppy and his group and how they were "welcomed" by the European racers. Might find it through Amazon.com (used) -- Art Link,San Antonio,TX

Keeping it classic...Doping extends WAY back...Anquetil once stated that it is impossible to see such performances on merely mineral water and way back during the early Tour years, the racers complained that they had to use cocaine drops to keep their eyes open due to exhaustion...so yeah, it extends WAY back! I LOVE reading about the history of racing and every time I turn around lately, I seek out new books on old racing so any recommendations would be appreciated.
