I have used Evaporust and I like it. It is completely benign and non-toxic. I think it would be compatible with any bicycle paint. My cat snuck up and drank a bit and is none the worse. I applied it and covered a frame in saran wrap and that seemed to work well. Immersion would be best I suppose. Hopefully the Bullfrog product is a gel version of something similar.
