An Italian threaded BB shell ought to work fine -- many builders simply run a tap in one side and out the other to thread the shell.

And with two lockrings, isn't the threading on the cartridge engaging with the shell superfluous anyway? A plain, unthreaded sleeve shell with the cartridge held in place by a lockring on each end ought to be sufficient, yes?
