Joel, Sorry about that. I guess that I just assume that a post about French stuff is from Jerry! It is my recollection that plenty of people used TA rings with a three arm chainset but they also used an TA adapter. I had Stronglight three arm steel cottered cranks because in the UK the five pin cranks were only available in 170mm and I needed longer. As I think I may have mentioned previously when the Stronglight 49D cotterless cranks were introduced in the UK far more racers used them with TA rings than Stronglight. Ray Green, Brighton, England
