Norris, Thanks for taking the time to really study this bicycle and explain what you've seen. What's difficult for those of us who are a bit younger than you, is that we remember these parts (or pieces with a similar appearances) from late '40s, 1950s and even early early 1960s bicycles. The problem is that we don't always know when these parts were first introduced - at least I don't. So it can be hard to distinguish between a 1930s frame with '50s parts, and a fully pre-war bicycle. Part of the problem is that, especially from an American perspective, it's difficult to understand the manner in which the war delayed the development of more modern components.
