Subject: [CR]Condor for Sale

Dear list, For sale is a very, very special 1962 Condor road bicycle. I bought this bike from the original owner about two years ago. He raced a few seasons on Kissena track in Queens, New York and had two custom made bikes built for him; a track and a road. Both were the same color; this is the road bike. Size is 57.5 cm. (22 5/8 in.) seat tube with a 56 cm. (22 in.) top tube; all measured center to center. She is constructed of Reynolds 531 double butted steel with Campagnolo long 1010 dropouts. What makes this frame so special and unique is the addition of internal oval reinforcing tubes in the down tube, seat tube and chain stays! These internal oval reinforcing tubes are about 6 inches long, run from the bottom bracket out, and were installed originally to stiffen the bottom bracket area as the owner was a tall powerful sprinter. When I discovered the magic hidden in this frame during bottom bracket repacking, I called a few frame builders and asked about this special treatment. Sachs said he had heard of it, but never seen it. Baylis also had never seen this treatment before. Same goes for Weigle. The paint is in GREAT condition and is a beautiful burnt orange metallic with a black head tube and seat tube panels and very fine gold lug linning. The decals are in wonderful condition. The head tube badge is fantastic! Alas, the frame is just too big for me and so she must go. Please refer to this link for j-pegs of her in an upright configuration with 650B wheels:

Veloflex Pave 700x22 clincher tires. These wheels are used , but are straight and true. -Parts are in very good condition over all; not n.o.s., but very presentable and tons of life in them waiting to be enjoyed. The bike will be delivered ready to be ridden. I have yet to take pictures of her recent rebuild, but youse get the idea. This very special and beautiful bicycle needs to find a loving, caring home. I offer her to the list for only $1,295.00 obo. Shipping via Fed Ex ground is at actual cost. Payment via personal check, U.S. Postal Service money order, cash, or PayPal ( please add 1 ½ % of the sale price, which is ½ the cost of using the convenience of PayPal; as we will share the cost equally). This is a great bicycle that will be a wonderful addition to your stable. All she needs is for you to enjoy her!
