Paul,

After Thursday's incident, I cannot recommend Vittoria Rallye 700C-23's highly enough. At the point that I went down, the tyres had 895 cyclometerd miles in the, and the profil on the rear was absolute flattop, to the point that I was expecting failure any mile now, and checking the tyre daily.

When the rear wheel locked up on me, the bike skidded at least 30 yards before flipping me off. Inspection afterwards showed that: a. I still had an estimated 50-100 miles of life left in the tyre, b. The kevlar belt held, and c., the tyre is still holding pressure. Were it not for the broken wrist, it'd probably gotten me home under pedal power.

I run the Vittorias at 90-99psi, religiously check the pressure every morning, and pick them up for $19.99 at the local Performance Bike shop.

I'm bloody pleased with them.
