Subject: [CR]Italian Masi GC for sale 57 cm C/C 58 Masi sizing

I would like to offer the following Masi Gran Criterium for sale to the CR membership. Go to this link to see the first of many photos and then simply go forward to see others: http://www.wooljersey.com/gallery/maasland/For_Sale_Items/Masi+GC+side+ view.JPG.html

The bike measures 57 cm C/C with a 56 cm C/C top tube. Using the Masi method of measuring, it is a 58 cm frame. The bike is from the early 70's (likely 1973-74 period) The Bottom bracket is marked AM58 which some have indicated might mean the builder could have been Alberto Masi (I am personally rather dubious of this.) The frame has been repainted in Italy, after which it has been used more. Prior to the repaint, the frame was also somewhat updated with the addition of top brake cable guide tube braze-ons, under the BB cable guides and a new fork to replace the original (the previous owner claims the original fork was misplaced during the repaint procedure.) The paint is not concour quality but will nonetheless give the new owner many years of enjoyment.

Component-wise, there are a few esthetic issues, but nothing technical. The stem is an Alberto Masi pantographed stem that has been fitted to a set of Cinelli bars. The bars were quite heavily marred when the 26.0 mm stem was fitted to the 26.4 mm bars, so the one side is quite ghastly. All components are from the Campagnolo Record/Nuovo Record gruppo, with the exception of headset, brake lever hoods and shifters. The headset is a Super Record copy marked Gipiemme. The shift levers are Simplex retrofriction, but I would be willing to switch them out with Campagnolo ones if the buyer would so wish. The saddle is the original Masi-branded 3TTT saddle, unfortunately the "M" brands on the saddle have almost been completely worn away through riding. You can however see the marking in one of the photos. The Campagnolo 2-bolt seatpost that was originally fitted was a shorty one which I have swapped out with an NOS longer one. The hubs are built up with unlabelled tubular rims and are true and round. I believe them to be Campagnolo rims but am not absolutely certain.

I would like to receive $1200 for pick up or I can bring it along to upcoming rides at either Gabriel Romeu (Sept. 17th) or Ken Sanford (Sept. 23rd) or to the Fall T-Town swap. For those wanting Fedex delivery, add $60 for packing and delivery.

PS: I will give preference to people willing to pick up the bike over those requiring shipment.
