Hello listers and listees,

This past weekend I participated in the 25th Anniversary Hotter n' Hell Hundred in Wichita Falls, Texas. The weather decided to uphold the rides name and it was hot ( I've heard anywhere from 108 to 111 on the road). Anyhow since this isn't a travelogue or ride report let me get to my point. While on the road I saw more than a few riders with flats, and either had no pump or one of those god awful minipumps which didn't work. As I had no particular attachment to a finishing time I stopped to help a few times. I'd like to report that my 20+ year old Silca Imperio pump was more than up to the task, and that I managed to not launch the pump handle into the throngs of riders (or at all). There's something to be said for tried and true technology, not to mention that a chrome Silca looks way better than any minipump.
