Dearest list,

Last nights meeting of The Brooklyn Velodrome Vintage Wheelmen went off with GREAT success!

The BVVW group of 10, a tangent of Gruppo Sportivo Pergolizzi, hung out and talked bike stuff for about 2 hours in a very nice small board room furnished with plush fabric chairs and a big walnut conference table. A loooong throw from Emey's back room!

Memorabilia included Nino's 30 some odd years of letters from various Italian frame builders to his inquiries was awesome. Eddie Albert's race programs from the 30's, 40's and 50's, including a Madison Square Garden Six Day, were truly amazing. My collection of original correspondence from and to the Tom Avenia shop in N.Y.C with Cinelli,Regina, Stella etc. complimented the other collections.

Attendees included the regulars of Nino Hellman, Sir Edward Albert, Maestro Michael Allison, Bionic Man Steve Klien and relative newbies Matthew Bowne and Ken Bensinger, and new newbie Laura Long and Dan Polito.

Great thanks goes to Mike Schmidt for the top-o-de-line place.

A last minute restaurant change was tolerated well by six of us who went to The Ginger Man on East 36th Street for eats and suds. A bit loud, but fine over all none the less.

As Ritch Levin would say: "A good time was had by all". And corks too!
