Subject: [CR]Re: Older Peugeot randonneur bike on French Ebay

I recently joined the list but for fear of going off topic this is my first post. For many years I have been riding several 40s/50s french Terrot 650b cycles belonging to my grandfather and his family, I remember a time when there were about a dozen bikes in the cellar belonging to living and deceased members of the family, all Terrot, being the local brand, we gave away those that were not in use which looking back is rather a shame but they did go to a museum. These bikes are some of the best I have ridden, despite their weight and few gears they ride with ease and they are far more comfortabe than my british road bikes. One of the better ones from c.1950, (8sp, alloy parts) recently had some rear wheel trouble. so I was rather pleased when I found a rear wheel with a mid 50s Peugeot frame attached in a skip. alas now I have a Peugeot, similar to the one currenly on ebay, but with no wheels. does anyone know of a source of new or old 650b rims in the UK, cant find anything on the internet. I am also looking for a four speed french thread freewheel if anyone has any spares. I probably just need to go to france but the guy in my LBS just tutted and inhaled sharply through his teeth when he saw what I had wheeled in. They evidently do not place much value on these bikes.
