If I remember correctly, English threaded freewheels thread somewhat tightly on Italian threaded hubs, to the point of altering the threads on the hub a bit. So an Italian hub that has had an English freewheel installed on it probably should only have English freewheels installed on it thereafter. Italian freewheels thread somewhat more loosely on English hubs and thus pose no problems. Of course I could be wrong and, according to my wife, frequently am.
