To clarify a little - as I've done off-line with Lou, the builder in question was from England, and making frames prior to 1970 (from the appearance in the photos I've seen).

Once again, any assistance would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

I'm guessing that this is actually John Hollands, not Holland. If it really is a Holland, let me know. John Hollands is also listed on the CR website under USA builders. Nice bikes. Lou Deeter, Orlando FL

HOLLANDS: Hollands Cycles, 1 Main Street, Reistertown MD 21136. 410-526-3983. John Hollands since 1987. From Kent, England. Sloping fork crown. Custom. 753 & 853 certified. Binder bolt through seat stays.

Hello all,

I have a line on a J A Holland tourer. The seller notes that it is built from 531 tubing, and I can see from the pictures that it has a moderately relaxed geometry, and some rather nice looking lugs. I have searched the archives, and could only find a passing mention of this builder in an exchange involving Mick Butler from March of 2004. Sorting through all the mentions of "Holland" (aka the Netherlands), is a bit of a complicating factor. Lou's wonderful guide has no details either, which leads me to presume that this was a small builder and somewhat obscure.

I am eager to hear whatever recollections list members might have about the builder and/or the marque, and am hoping that someone might have a site dedicated to it.

Thanks in advance,
