That's why so many riders around the world use track pedals on the road. The new offlist out of timeline platform click-ins don't have that ptoblem. Many guys just took a saw and cut off the ends and no more problemo. It's also why Campy left off the out side toe strap loop on the older model pedals. Do a chop job. It's also why you see so many old steel pedals cut off or had the quill filed down, bent out and generally modified. Cops on the foot beat weren't the only ones with wide flat feet. I'm riding a pair of road SL Campy pedals that had the ends cut off, filed to track pedal plate contour, painted black, and you can hardly see the difference unless you get down on your knees and get out a magnifying glass.
