An exciting exercise to say the least.
Another way to secure the cup after fastening real well is to take a center
punch and make a small indent on the BB to expand onto the flat of the BB
cup a little and prevent backing out. Have seen as many as 3-4 punches but
that's overkill.
When removing often the tool would straighten it out and the cup would undo,
or it could be filed a little back to flat shell, or a flat sharp edge could
be used to hammer the BB shell back a trifle to ease unscrewing.
