Subject: [CR]Vintage Bicycle Ride - DC area - Sunday, 23 September

This ride is planned for Saturday, 23 September.

My 4th annual DC area Autumnal Vintage bike ride.

The theme this year is track bikes, fixed gear bikes, single speed bikes, path racers, etc.

If you do not have a track bike, most anything with 1, 2, or 3 wheels made out of steel will be acceptable....

Due to some folks having difficulty with last years cue sheet (could I have made an error?), I have created a new, much simplified route that basically goes down Beach Drive for a ways, does a loop and returns. Very fixed gear friendly - with one or two (not difficult) hills to give

us a chance to get out of the saddle.

Non-riders, spouses, etc welcome, of course. (My spousal unit will not be riding)

We will assemble circa 10 am with an aim to begin riding at about 10:30. Food, beverages served afterwards.

Please let me know if you plan to attend so I can be sure to have sufficient food, etc available. At a minimum, we will serve Pizza, homemade Chili, vegetarian taco soup, and Brats. Along with beer and soda. Food and/or beverage donations most welcome.

I will send directions when you let me know you plan to attend. But we are located just north of DC, close to the Connecticut Avenue exit off the beltway, I-495.

Please RSVP to kanford@comcast.net or phone 301/942-5208

Questions: How come you always get to pick the theme? I am the host...

How do yo determine the theme? It is almost always what I got on the rosd most recently...
