I recently migrated from a Windows platform to OS-X. That meant I had to install Thunderbird for the Mac. In the process, I discovered an extension called "Signature" that allows you to set-up a variety of custom signatures and choose the one you want by right-clicking at the point where you want the signature block inserted.

This is way easier that creating new "accounts" for each sig, which is what you had to do previously. It also allows you to put the signature block where it does the most good - at the conclusion of your message - rather than at the bottom of all text in the reply. Anyone using T-bird that would like additional details/directions, e-mail off list.
