Jerry Moos asked about SigmaSport...cyclecoputers.

Sometimes, like today, I ride one of my vintage bikes on large events, and sometimes get neat comments. Today it was the '65 Paramount. I started using Avocet computers as soon as I could afford one, and think they were the first out. So the avocet 20 is appropriate back to the early 70s, if I recall correctly.

Recently, #1 son spotted a great deal for the Garmin 201 GPS unit: $80 from Amazon. You can buy the Official Handlebar Kit, but I just use some pipe insulation to build up to wrist size. It's not revolutionary, but it is nice. In particular, in just a few seconds, the whole thing is off the bike, without trace, so there's one less modern distraction. And, it doesn't need wheel calibration, ever! Does get "lost" under heavy tree cover.

Please, boys and girls, let's not migrate toward a discussion of these critters on the list, just as we don't normally discuss the cameras we carry. But, it is an option, and worked just as well on the century I rode on the '38 Pmount as it did on the '65 today.

Anyone have older Sigma Sport computers to sell? I'm looking for the ones made 3 years or at least 2 years ago, with a mostly black case that could be retrofit with a Sigma Sport RCS Plus wireless kit. The new Sigma wired computers cannot be converted to wireless. I like these computers for classic bikes as they are relatively small and with the wireless kit don't require a lot of zip ties on the frame, so detract from the classic look as little as possible. I bought quite a few, but somehow have wound up with a half dozen of the wireless kits, but I've used all the computers.
