You're right. The Bruegelmann catalogs of 1977 and 78 (largest bicycle dealer in Europe back then) offers not only Colnago (and Cinelli, Masi, Pogliaghi, de Rosa, Gianni Motta...) frames but lists individual parts in "Colnago Finish". Listed are saddles, T.T.T. stems, Campagnolo chain wheels, cranks, brakes and levers ("Mexico Style"), and seat pins. For example the cost of the Colnago Mexico crankset was 360DM compared to 235DM for the normal Campagnolo Record cranks. It is explicitely mentioned that the panto work is done by Colnago (and that the style changes frequently).
