Subject: [CR]172.5 cranks on 21" 1969 Raleigh Pro

Reassembling the 1969/1970 Raleigh Pro I recently bought on eBay after treating with Weigle's Framesaver, washing and many coats of wax. I note that the undated Campy NR cranks are 172.5, even though this is only a 21" frame, measures 53 cm ctc. It seems odd to see 172.5 cranks on a frame this small. The undated cranks are of course correct for 1969/1970 and there is no other indication the cranks are not original. Plus if the cranks were replaced, it is likely this occured soon after purchase, since 172.5 is a moderately unusual length, and finding an undated 172.5 would have been a little difficult many years later.

Anyone remember these bikes coming with 172.5, even in smaller frame sizes? Any guesses if this could in fact be original?
