I picked up an old Mototbecane-made Astra Mixte, because I wanted a quirky old Mixte to play with...until the right Automoto shows up. :-)

The Astra has these two, wonderful skinny downward curving tubes instead of the pair of severely straight tubes raked to the rear frame ends found on so many Mixtes. The curving tubes also have delightful chrome scuff plates. It also has Motobecane Ms cut into the brace between these curving tubes and the down tube, as well as on the fork crown. Nervar cottered cranks, Huret shifters, Huret Allvit derailleur, Huret Wing nuts, Pivo stem, Normandy hubs, Weinmann levers and 999 center pulls round out the mixte, er, mix. Nothing special here except these curving down tubes and their scuff plates. I just love them. Women (and men too old to get over a high top tube) were so wonderfully pampered by the French in those days. :-)

Anyone know of any pics online that would allow me to see what the original transfers and head badge looked like. The ones on this bike are pretty far gone. Madame is purple over grey.
