A couple of weeks ago I was back to NYC to visit my parents. Before returning home, I drove over to the Kissena Velodrome, hopped the fence, checked out the new paving, walked up and down the bankings and basically had a religious experience.
I noticed that a couple of cracks have returned, in exactly the same locations as in 1966. Of course, that might be unavoidable, given the swampy nature of Kissena Park.
No matter what, though, next time I go up to NYC, I'm bringing
a track bike.
