Subject: [CR]AW: Is it a Cinelli?

Hi Randy, since I do not have the frame yet I can not tell the frame number. The seller mentioned 531 tubing in relation to an other auction he was running but did not state it is a 531 frame. He just wrote it is lighter than a smaller 531 frame he is offering. What made me wonder about being a cinelli were also the different head-lugs but then I checked an old german mailorder catalogue (the famou Brügelmann) and found an SC wtih that kind of lugs. The seller also mentioned that the frame was repainted which would explain the different chroming. Funny about the whole auction was that it had the buy it now option which I used but also an "make an offer" option. A couple of hours after I bid, another bidder contacted me lamenting that he wanted it too but was to cheap because he only offered 50, Euros. He was asking whether I would sell it. I think this is another typical example for "when ebay tactics go wrong". I will let you guys know more as soon as I got the frame. I will also post some pictures then at my brand new wooljersey-account. Thank you Morgan for activating the account.

hi michael,

i'm definitely not an expert, so i hope you don't mind me commenting, but i don't think this is an early '80s cinelli supercorsa. the placement of the circular cut-outs in the lugs is different, the top tube cable guides don't have round bases, and the lug profiles are different. the chroming is also presented differently, but that could just be the paint. does it have a 5-digit serial number on the bottom bracket beginning with an '8'? mine is columbus but the seller says yours is 531 - is there any evidence that it really is reynolds?

i hope someone will correct me if i'm wrong. i'm not saying it's not a good-looking frame tho, congratulations on a good score.
