Aldo asked about David Spick. David and I have been communicating for a number of years now. He is located in Buenos Aires, Argentina where he works as a teacher. He owns some very interesting bikes and has dug up numerous others.

Regarding Lygie, the company was first founded in France. In 1905, Italian Alfredo Sironi began assembling them in Milan for the Italian market. The brand (both French and Italian branches) was then purchased in 1908 by Ernesto Rolando of Pavia, with Italian production being moved to Pavia. In 1932, the brand was purchased by Cesare Rizzato and Italian production was moved to Padova. It is my understanding that the French production continued all along in St. Etienne. While founded as a French-owned company, it was of Italian ownership for almost the complete life of the company.
