hello to all ovalized BB sufferers, where as i have a rather extensive and useful collection of hammers, i also have a good assortment of C clamps, small to very large. i have repaired a couple of BB shells w/ different ball peens, even useing various punches (nail set to center point) to put things right....the hammer route was always my least favorite way to go....inaccurate, tight going at the top of the shell, and the obvious chance to do something that is hard to undo....i also have a number of steel blocks, from thin to fat, square to curved....a pair of curved blocks and an 8" C clamps are very easy to work to bring the shell slowly back to round....of course you need to work slowly, and of course remove the cup while doing this repair....get the gist....just a gentle reshape threading the cup in and out to gauge your progress...good luck and enjoy the work.... charlie flaherty baltimore maryland usa
