Persons sells two India-made saddles. One is a knock-off of the B-17, and one is a knock-off of the Brooks Professional. I bought a _dark blue_ copy of the brooks professional for an on-topic 1971 Fuji Finest restoration, figuring it would be difficult to find a NOS Fujita pro saddle. My saddle has brass rails.

Charlie (proprietor at Persons) is IMHO a very nice guy, and gave me a a deal on my saddle because the dark blue color is not completely uniform. Nobody else makes a blue saddle and so I had little choice in the matter.

Overall, the quality is good - it is difficult to feel a difference while riding the bicycle. My saddle has thick leather with a uniform texture but the coloration is not uniform (although that's difficult to see in such a dark saddle), and yes, the rivets do protrude a little bit more than on a brooks saddle. I'd say its nicer than a Wrights saddle. I believe that Charlie will try to resupply his stocks with a nicer version of this saddle.

The persons saddle has a brass PERSONS badge which is a set of raised block letters with cutouts in between. Its quite a distinctive badge. It also has a B-17 type of imprint on the side.

IMHO, todays' brooks saddles are of higher quality than vintage (1960's, 1970's) brooks saddles when high-volume mass production (for Raleigh and others) was the main consideration.

I am happy with my saddle from Persons'.
