I don't think there is anything strained about using the NR on a triple... I use the triple NR crankset (36/47/52) as well as a TA (52/47/30) and both work fine with a NR in case anyone is trying a similiar setup. The adjustments still have excess in both directions but I don't need it, might relate to my BBs which are slightly longer than double Phils (~116) for a better chain line on the two main rings.
