You are in great shape for tires on this one. Probably. These should take 349 tires, a somewhat popular size for folders and recumbents. Some very nice tires are available.

Unless they are just a hair bigger than the others, these may be ISO 32-400, a size not even mentioned on Sheldon Brown's tire sizing page. http://sheldonbrown.com/tire-sizing.html It is mentioned here http://www.conti-online.com/generator/www/de/en/continental/bicycle/themes/tips/dimension/old_dimensions_en.html but with no suggestion of where they might be found.

I would consider lacing up some 406 rims, in which case tire selection would be nearly infinite. 25mm-60mm

Even if they are collectable, it's more important to expose them to cycling on good bikes. And these should be their "Good" bikes, for family rides. Give them K-Mart beaters for riding with their buddies.

My kids put many good miles on a 500A wheeled Gitane. I think it under it's 9th or 10th young rider now.
