Phil, I have just had Mick on to me about your beautiful Phillips. Positive you are 100% correct in your assumptions. On a point of interest the bit of paper stuffed up the seat tube is fascinating, you might be interested in their respective Christian names and position within in the 50/60's Raleigh Hierarchy. George Wilson was the Managing Director of Raleigh. Leslie Roberts was the Chairman of Raleigh. Eric Baker was the Export Director of Raleigh. All three of these were involved in the Reg Harris failed link up with Carlton. In fact the mystery Phillips looks very much alike one of the early top quality Harris frames especially the colour scheme. I think there was talk in the early 60's of having a team of independents race under the Phillips banner but I cannot remember if this happened, this machine would have been an ideal team bike of the period. Finally have you tried the Bowden Raleigh book for more info? I don't own a copy. Best wishes Joe. Croeso Cymru Joe King Nr. Maenaddwyn Ynys Mon Wales
