Obviously the Japanese bidder believes what he reads and puts his money on what he has read.
La Meilleure simply means "The Best"..and the bidder believes it. It's is not a well known brand..and it dates from the 30s. I have had a few of these on S/H bikes..and they just do not last very well..not the same quality as Brooks, Ideale etc. even though they generally have that "Croupon Garanti" stamp on them.
Thre last vestige of this brand of saddle, on the List, was, as far as I remember on Martin Appel's 1936/7 Automoto..now in the CR archive
