I contacted the seller in france who runs these auctions, i have emailed him several times and bought things from him before - he is the proprieter of the rene herse project website. Here is his response :

Definitely a scam, just robbed my photos.... I m in a cyber cafe at the moment so it might be hard to contact eBay....
