Sorry for posting Modern trends by mistake but this bicycle messenger thing is fascinating. It's wonderful how they combine old classic frames with modern fixed wheel kit. I saw an Ephgrave No.1 track iron at Euston and several Hetchins, Condors and Witcombs being ridden by bike messengers. They get their kit from here especially Toshi's and clips. Most of this stuff is used in Keirin's http://www.hubjub.co.uk/white/white.htm

There were at least two Dursley Pedersens built in the early 80's by a real classy builder in Furneux Pelham Hertfordshire. The builder turned up at a Boot & Back Veteran Cycle Time Trial. When it was run from the Boot Pub in Dane End. In those days the vintage lads use to meet in a car park in Hertford for a short club run to the Dane End where the TT use to start in a lane. Anyway this frame builder turns up and is fascinated by Alan Hawkes (SVCC) Dursley and he then decides to build a modern silver soldered replica. Alan helped with the project and when completed Cycling magazine ran a double page article on the old and new Dursley.

Someone even time trialled one with great sucess complete with hamock saddle but I am not sure if this was a Danish or British job. The Brit built one was class. Croeso Cymru Joe King Nr. Maenaddwyn Ynys Mon Wales
