Too bad I wasn't there then, I'd have been really interested.

Mine dosen't ride very well. BUT I've only ridden it a short distance on a bike path, and I'm not very experienced with fixed gear riding. It was fun, and the geometry works out feeling just like a normal bike as far as where your hands, feet etc are in relation to each other. The small wheel in front makes the view a bit odd at first, but if you've ridden a time trial bike with a smaller front wheel, it's not so weird.

It is very twitchy, especially at low speeds. The short wheel base of only about 36 inches is probably the reason. But it wasn't built for comfort, or low speed handling, it was built to be ridden as fast as possible for 4 kilometers, and to allow the team to be very close, to get as good an effect from drafting as possible. They won the event, so it must have been fairly good for it's purpose.

First, I don't remember either a gentlemen's handshake (female gender inclusive) nor a rule about outing on this list. That is not why I wrote.

I saw one of these bikes and had a chance to buy it at Copake and then again at Monson if my memory does not fail me. You could have had the bike and the team carrier with wheels for $500 and barely anyone gave it a second look. That was a couple of years ago so not sure what became of it but it seemed to be more a novelty than a collectors item. I do remember the strange front fork/stem arrangement and wondered how it rode with that peculiarity in geometry.
