After having read Mikes note on the e-bay Maxi-Car hubs, I'm getting a bit excited about a pair of Maxi hubs I 'found' last August. They sat on the wheels of a rusty Colnago, equipped with the complete early Shimano 600 ('Arabesque') group, for which I paid all together 10 Euro. After some cleaning and polishing, the hubs look *exactly* as the ones on Joel Metz' Maci-Car pages (including the blue dustcaps): http://www.blackbirdsf.org/maxicar/images/maxi_high_alu_front.jpg The front hub came with Huret wingnuts, the rear one with an Ofmega quick release.
>From what I found back in the CR archives, I understand that Maxi hubs are not of the same class and quality as Maxi-Car. But something tells me this could have been a little steal? Or not?
