The impression of quality is similar to Super Record. Actually SR might be a tiny bit finer in the bearing races, and the Edco uses 5/32" balls versus the larger 3/16" balls in an SR, but Edcos I used back in the day lasted pretty well, so I don't think this is a problem.

I took a snapshot: http://bulgier.net/pics/bike/Parts/Forks_Headsets/Edco_HS.jpg<<<<<

I also just received one of the EDCO headsets, and my testimonial is for Chris, not just the headset. Chris offered the headsets at MORE than just a fair price. Quite a bargain really, for a really nice, and fairly rare, headset. I didn't have an immediate need for a French threaded one, but couldn't pass it up. After contacting Chris and making payment, mine arrived seemingly overnight. Of course, Chris is not too far away from me, but great service anyway. Thanks Chris!

I've always been a fan of the EDCO headsets and BBs. Especially the BBs, that have adjustable cups on both sides. I've had some pix of the headsets in one of my Wooljersey albums for some time. Here's a separated view of another gold one:

You can see one mounted here:

Pix of the next generation EDCO headsets can be seen here:

Still nice, but not quite as "classic" looking as the earlier one.

I'll try and post some pix of the BBs soon as well.

Still hope to have a complete EDCO group equipped bike someday.
