Unless the frame has a _very_ long top tube or the rider uses _very_ short toeclips, there is no way these numbers compute. In my size (57-58 cm top tube), bikes with a 73 degree head angle and 40 mm fork offset (rake) usually still have toeclip overlap.

If your angle finder did not read correctly (or the bike wasn't on level ground), then perhaps your angles are off. If your rider used M size toeclips, then this could be a bike with a 73-74 degree head and 40-45 mm offset. That isn't far off a traditional racing bike geometry. It will feel great at high speed (>20 mph), but at lower speeds, it may feel twitchy to the uninitiated. My Marinoni's measurements are 74 degrees and 40 mm, if I recall correctly. A great-handling bike at racing speeds, but not much fun at 13-15 mph.

Do you happen to have a front-center measurement? That would allow double-checking the angle measurements. --

Jan and others who wrote off list. Thanks and let me clarify for all:

Measuring was done two ways, removed the top tube cable clips and used a Mitutoyo angle guage, 74 seat, 76 head angle. foo the top tube.

Then measure on level ground, (actually a 90" long alloy box profile, checked for level) fiddled with the wheel position to level out the top tube with a bubble scale as one tire was not perfectly round. then found the angles via the angle guage and a bubble level attachment.

I took 18" long ground straightedges and checked for tube problems, none.

At this point the fork rake is my guess. by removing the bars and brake and using a bar and a set of V blocks off the head tube and swinging the fork around I satisfied myself that the fork was not bent, blades exit the crown straight. Next will be removal of the fork and measure the rake hard.

Frame is 58cm to the top, 57cm top tube center to center, V block assisted.

Bike had 170 mm cranks, Lyotard platform pedals and long Christophe clips. I have not measured the forward throw of these pedals from the axle to the toe clip mounting face.

The front center dim (as measured point to point, axle to BB axle) will come later when I can measure it again it is over 58cm but I was working alone and did not want to trust measuring and verifying the wheel straight.

Rear axle was set at the middle of the rear drops.

BB drop I can only say is ledd than the Medici which is 70mm.

When lining up the two bikes side by side, bars off both, it is amazing how much more upright this Peugeot is.

I agree, this bike is weird. I will throw the dimensions into a CAD program and measure the trail, next week, I am sure it is lower than what is typically seen.
