I think we have talked about this before, but the Columbus MS (Multi Shape) set had no tubes that were straight cylindrical tubes except the head tube... It had a pear shaped (sorta) down tube, tapered seat tube, oval top tube, triangular LH chain stay, oval RH chain stay, biconical (IIRC) seat stays. Special lug set went with the set and it had an odd small seat post size (25.0?)
I think the stuff came out in the mid to late 80s? I have a couple of tube sets and lugs stashed away to be yet another of my retirement projects in 20 years...!.
Basso's model "Ascot" used them, I forget the Tommasini model name. Many of the builders gave it a shot but it was a short lived product.

Any pics of the bike? Is it all round tubes, or are they shaped oddly? I seem to recall a Basso frame from the late 80s made with tubing that was not all round and the moniker Columbus MS sticks in my head, but it's hazy enough that I wouldn't swear to it.
