In defense of Inside Communications (an odd thing to be doing maybe), the display bikes DO stand to win real bucks..

If it were just a display for the gratification of the attendees, maybe you would be right.

I'm a bit confused -

Why would folks want to pay to enter bikes in a show that is run as a profit making enterprise for Inside Communications?

The bikes on display add to the event, if anything folks should get payment and thanks for bringing them along.
