My own experience as a rider of these rims is a bit limited; I always preferred lighter rims, and these were definitely not that. They seemed to hold up OK, but had a harsher ride than many of their contemporaries. From a wheelbuider/mechanic's standpoint, I have a low opinion of them. Not only were they hard to lace & true (the spoke wrench problem), but the welded seams were usually ground poorly, and tire seating was a lot more problematic than most other rims. Overall, there were other rims that were a lot less trouble to deal with. Also, I would like to thank everyone for the somewhat dizzying response to my recent FS/WTB posting-the Ambrosio stem, Barelli pedals,Juy 53 changer, Zeus cranks & brakes , Hi-Lo hub, and Barnett's manual have all found new homes...lot's of stuff left, and I'm still looking for that 58cm track frame! Forza!!!
