Fred,

I checked out the Gus Hall bio at Wikipedia. Not sure I see the connection. Certainly, I'm not a communist, socialist, or even all that far left-leaning. My little CR rant was not an indictment of the rich. Heck, some of my best friends are rich, as they say. I don't have a problem with people having more money than I do, and as a middle-class American, I have much more wealth than most people on this planet, so who am I to start ranting about eating the rich and all that. I just think it is sad that some people who enjoy enormous advantages don't seem to have the time to develop any real appreciation of the material things that those advantages confer. In the big picture this is a far less significant issue than whether these people are "doing good," in their lives, but it is sad to see recreational consumerism confused with sport or some form of accomplishment.
