........had a customer call into the shop today with an enquiry about his newly acquired Raleigh Record Ace believed to be from the early 50's and still equipped with its original componentry, it appears that when he tried to dismantle the bottom bracket the right hand fixed cup was nothing like he had come across before..........protruding from the frame approx. 1/8th" but no raised flange with the traditional flats on either side just two small indentations on opposite sides to each other, the question is neither of us have any idea how to remove the cup as it doesn't appear to have a thread to unscrew so can any of you more enlightened Raleigh enthusiasts offer any advice? regards Griff King-Spooner (London UK)
