Hi, Dale, List---
The 2002 is a lovely jersey, to be sure. But I do recall a List Member writing in saying several motorists stopped him while locomoting to tell him that he could barely be seen amongst the trees, shadows and autumnal colors. Small surprise. I would love to own one but I would wear it to swap meets and get-togethers for a fashion statement, or on bike paths or in a group ride, as in traffic I only ride solo in outfits suitable for Bozo the Clown---canary yellow, hi-vis green, or white with bright stripes, etc. I've heard about too many people getting picked off....just read the touring list....
The new proposed blue is more visible than the 2002 olive, but still not flamboyant enough for my meagre attempts at survival in the wild, wild west which is now our roadways. But I by no means intend to rain on the jersey parade. I intend to buy one and encourage everyone else to buy one, too---but then throw a hi-vis mesh safety vest over it when you actually go awheeling alongside the 8000-lb Hummers and the thoughtless robots who brandish them.
Don't go to heaven in 2007.
