I'm assuming that this tool is the one that produces a 45 degree chamfer on the internal leading edges of the bottom bracket, so that one of MAVIC's unthreaded cartridge brackets can be slipped into place and locked in with the chamfered locking rings.

Rodney..if you don't find any over in the USA..and there must be plenty, I have a set you could borrow.

However..if you are reasonably adept and skilful with a file, it is possible to use a 6 or 8" half-round file to produce a very usable chamfer. It just takes a little time, patience and possibly ingenuity. Maybe one of those buzzing little jeweller's drills..a Dremel or something could be used instead of a file.

even with a chamfer produced with the Mavic tool, I always found it to be a safety first measure to add a little breakable Loctite to the faces of the two opposing chamfers, as the MAVIC lock rings, beautiful as they are in their deep grey anodlised finish, will not stand up to too much heavy handed spanner-work.
