Here is a link to my '77 le Champion; all 531DB http://www.fixedgeargall ery.com/2006/july/DougWagner.htm and to other mostly on period motobecane s for other examples http://valla.uchicago.edu/cgi-bin/fgg.pl?string22motobecane&submit222=fix+me+up

Mine has a half-chrome fork, but no c hrome rear triangle. Rides great in fixed mode.

Re: Brooks B-18. I bo ught one for my wife to try on our tandem. It is beautiful, but she found i t was not comfortable on the tandem because it really is designed for a ver y upright riding position. So if you plan to use it on a "city" bike or on one where you sit upright and don't use drop bars, it should work fine. I plan to use it instead on a Raleigh mixte with dove bars that I am buildin g up for her over the winter. Doug Wagner Richmond KY USA
