Subject: [CR]Home made decals/transfers
I have made a few waterslide transfers with a product from this website:
http://www.craftycomputerpaper.co.uk/ . Go to Decal/transfer papers.
You
will see that they make waterslide paper in clear or white, and there
are 2
versions, for laser printer or inkjet printer. I have only used a photo
quality inkjet printer, with the limitation of course that you are not
able
to print metallics or white. Whatever type of paper or printer you use
it
is essential give the transfer at least 2 very thin coats of acrylic
spray
lacquer before application, and another one after - I use an American
lacquer made by Plasikote.
If you are able to prepare your own artwork using Corel version 12 or
lower,
Nick Tithecott of Lloyd Cycles can do an excellent job of printing them
onto
thin cast vinyl. Once Wooljersey is back up again at the weekend have a
look at the set on my Elswick Rapier and you will see what I mean.
