Can anyone enlighten me as to where one could pick up one of the stands used in this photo?:

I don't know where to get them new; I may have some in the attic. I find them generally rather unsatisfactory, but this depends on intended use:

GOOD: Lifts rear wheel for minor adjustments of derailleurs and rear brake. fairly easy to carry a bunch of them, rather compactly, to swap meets, etc. Same for storage. BAD: not very stable may have interference with DT water bottles. tend to rust. do you want to display your bike nose-down? works poorly or not at all with oversized DTs. front wheel may wander.

Instead, I generally now use stands that hold the left crank and leave both wheels on the ground.

Of course, your mileage may vary.
