I have dealt with this seller a number of times and I don't think that Tom's description of him being well respected is quite right. He can be described as well-meaning, but I would not go so far as to say respected. Apart from the fact that he doesn't understand a word of English, he has also shown himself to be lacking in cycling knowledge and culture on many occasions. I would not put too much weight on his descriptions (if they are understandable). I would generally recommend that you use your eyes rather than his descriptions to judge the item for sale.

Translating the individual words backwards to Italian, it would appear that the description about hte Rome olympics is not linked to this particular bike but to Cinelli bikes in general. The small print warning likely read: The left rear drop-out shows a small scratch of little importance caused by transport.
