I'm putting together a 1960's Peugeot PX-10 as ridden by Tom Simpson and
Eddy Merckx when they rode for he Peugeot team. I have photos of both of them
riding with bar end shifters, which I would like to put on this bike. I also
have a Simplex demultiplicator to go with these shifters. I looked back at the
CR archives and Google, and there was every opinion as to just what these are
supposed to do and whether they are worth putting on a bike. One person said
they are intended only for tandems.
Would demultiplicators have been around in the years Simpson and Merckx rode
for Peugeot, and would they likely have used them?
