I think someone just got a nice bargain on an old 50s randonneur frameset. Selling price: 25 GBP ($50) and shipping to USA (45 GBP) ... So, 70 GBP (under $140) delivered to your USA front door just ain't bad at all. (item# 200048397743)

Decent blow ups of the bike suggest it to be sound and with it's original paint. Chrome on headset and cottored BB (both appear to be Stronglight) each have a generous coating of classic British rust. Still, a nice original frameset of the era which may make a nice winter project (or gift) for someone.

Personally, I would leave the enamel unmolested and just break out the simichrome and grease, build it back up with similarly weathered mudguards and components... and just ride it.

Frameset still has its original braze-on posts for Bebolux brake calipers and the proper 2-hole chainstay hanger for a 50s French touring derailleur.

Perhaps the British simply have too many superior domestic bikes to even bother bidding up after this big brand foreign stuff. Nevertheless, I'm surprised it sold so low... 49 bucks?
