Interesting - this stuff make some claims I've never heard before about Mavic parts being made by other manufacturers. We all know that Mavic brakes were made by Modolo and later by DiaCompe, but were the cranks really made by SR (Japan), the pedals by TA and the derailleurs by Simplex? Can anyone confirm or refute this? Of course, Simplex made rebadged derailleurs for Gipiemme and Spidel among others, but in those cases there were usually Identical models with Simplex markings. I've never seen the Mavic "erector set" derailleurs marked as Simplex. Has anyone else?

And now I'm down to the last 2 parts to finish it. Can anyone help me find the bars and pedals?

The bars say "Mavic" and "Comte de Coucy" on them. And the pedals (made by TA) have a square shoulder on the pedal body (not the smooth taper of later ones), and silver quills instead of dark anodize.

the full group is here (thanks Robert Broderick~!!) : http://www.wooljersey.com/gallery/broderir/Catalogs-Posters/MAVIC/1979-11/

I'll pay cash, or trade for later Mavic or ?. Also any more pictures or info about 1st-gen Mavic bikes would be appreciated. So far I've just seen a few photos of Lucien Van Impe riding w/ this group while he was on the Boston-Mavic team.
